ABOUT THE PSG
The PSG comprises parent volunteers who work closely with the school to enrich the educational experience of the boys through a wide range of activities. These activities are planned and organised by various Sub-Committees and led by the PSG EXCO.
Infocomm
We manage the PSG website, and the administrative duties of collating volunteers for the various events that the PSG works on in school. We also help with photography at PSG-administered events and write-ups on the PSG website.
On a less technical note, the PSG TV and Notice Board (in the school Canteen) also fall under our purview.
We are always looking for active Parent Volunteers with a keen eye for photography or with the interest to help manage the PSG website!
Curriculum Enrichment
We work together with the school and the various subject departments to help organise fun learning experiences for our boys.
Some of our activities include Mother Tongue Fun Day (P1s and P2s), Happy Helping Hands (P3s), Financial Literacy and Cyber Wellness Programmes (all levels), as well as some ad-hoc activities.
We are on the lookout for Parent Volunteers dedicated to bringing an exciting and interesting learning experience to our boys, and hopefully proficient in both English and a Mother Tongue language!
Events
The activities we organise are usually held during school recess in conjunction with Chinese New Year, Founder’s Day, International Friendship Day, Racial Harmony Day, Teachers’ Day and Children’s Day.
These events incorporate games, crafts, quizzes, and experiential learning opportunities for the boys.
We are a team of fun-loving and creative Parent Volunteers, looking for more like-minded volunteers to help us think of and organise these fun activities!
Learning Support
Believing that every child has the ability to shine, we work in partnership with the school and teachers to provide extra help in Math (Math Bridging Programme), Reading (Reading Warriors Programme) and Chinese Oral skills (Chinese Oral Buddy).
In addition, we run the Teacher Aide Programme to support teachers and students in the classroom.
We welcome Parent Volunteers who have a heart for working closely with the teachers to provide a better learning environment for the students.
Library
A sanctuary of silence and information for our boys, the PSG helps the Librarian and teachers to arrange the books, and conduct story-telling and other craft and fun activities at the Library.
There are also thematic displays with new information and quizzes for our boys, to help them enjoy their new found knowledge and appreciate reading.
We are always looking for Parent Volunteers who enjoy reading to the boys, and working closely with books, to create an environment that the boys will flock to!
Merchandise
This Sub-Com is instrumental in the design and production of school collectibles that are much loved by Old Boys (alumni), parents and boys. An example of some of these highly sought after collectibles include the ever popular windbreakers, pencil cases, tote bags, car decals, cuff links and lapel pins. All proceeds from the sale of PSG Merchandise go toward helping to fund PSG-led activities for the boys.
We welcome Parent Volunteers who are interested in the design and sourcing of these products, and who are passionate about helping to promote the sale of these items.
Family Adventure
Family bonding is an important part of every child’s life and the Family Adventure Sub-Com organises twice-yearly retreats for family members involving fun, adventure and time together!
The annual Track and Field days are also assisted by the parent volunteers from this Sub-Com.
We are always keen to have more active and fun-loving parents join us to plan and run more activities for our boys!
PCCE
This Sub-Com provides Parent Volunteers who assist with Chapel, Assembly sessions in class and also organise prayer groups for parents. Through its activities anchored on Christian values and principles, PCCE supports the growth and development of the moral character of the boys.
We are open to all Christian parents who are keen to join us on this journey and help us with the various PCCE activities.
