Small Hands, Big Hearts: ACtS of Love 2026
Posted on July 11, 2026
On Saturday, 11 July 2026, 60 of our Primary 1 to Primary 6 boys and their parents took part in our ACtS of Love community event, partnering with MOCA to serve 200 elderly residents in the Farrer Park and Pek Kio neighbourhoods. The objective of the Values-In-Action (VIA) community event was to nurture our boys to be Active Contributors and Servant Leaders in our homes, school and community.
The event saw our lower primary students giving out essential groceries to the residents, alongside MOCA volunteers. These groceries were generously sponsored by MOCA’s private sponsors. The boys eagerly checked off their lists as they prepared each set of groceries, but the real joy came in the simple moments of giving — a young boy handing over a bag of rice or a bottle of oil and seeing both his and the resident’s faces light up. Some boys were so proud of their roles that they were reluctant to leave even when their shift was over! It was heart-warming to see their enthusiasm and growing sense of ownership in serving the community.
Beyond the groceries, the day was also about building relationships and sharing meaningful moments with the elderly residents. Our upper primary boys hosted fun game stations where residents and boys bonded over Connect 4, a marble run using chopsticks and a Singapore-themed jigsaw puzzle. Laughter and encouragement flowed as they played together.
Our Primary 3 and 4 boys also teamed up with residents to paint National Day-themed tote bags. It was a joy to watch them collaborate, with many residents taking great care with their creations! The tote bag designs were contributed by our ACS(P) boys and a parent, making the activity an even more special expression of our school community.
Nothing captures the spirit of the day better than the boys’ own words:
“Today was a memorable afternoon spent at the ACtS of Love event where I had the opportunity to interact and play games with the residents. It was a valuable experience engaging the residents in games and seeing them in all smiles looking so happy, with them leaving the venue saying thank you to us when we passed them the little prizes after their games, really brought a smile to my face too. A big thank you to all teachers, parents and MOCA volunteers for letting us students have a chance to participate in this meaningful activity!” Jayden Soh, 6D
“I really enjoyed today’s experience because I had the chance to interact with the elderly and make them smile. I also got to improve my art skills while creating something special together. It was a meaningful experience, and I learned that even small acts of kindness can make others happy.😃” Xu Lan Xiao, 4H
“I had lots of fun today being a seller (giver) of oil, Milo and eggs. I enjoyed giving away the foodstuff, and also helping the Aunty paint her durian (tote) bag.” 😄 Emmanuel Lim, 2H
Through these simple acts of service, our boys experienced what it means to give generously, connect meaningfully and make a difference in the lives of others.
