ACS(P) Celebrates Children’s Day
On Thursday, 2 October, ACS(P) students enjoyed a vibrant Children’s Day celebration filled with laughter, games, and camaraderie. Despite it being a half-day of school, the energy and excitement were unmistakable as the festivities unfolded across two locations: the lower primary in the auditorium and the upper primary in the canteen and music studio.
This year, the celebration embraced the theme of “Old School Games with Servant Leadership,” encouraging students not only to have fun but also to cooperate, support one another, and demonstrate leadership through teamwork.
Lower Primary Highlights
The younger students engaged in four classic yet thrilling games:
• Kuti Kuti – a lively traditional game that had everyone eagerly trying to defend their Kuti pieces
• Tallest Tower Challenge – students tested their engineering skills using paper rolls to build the highest tower.
• Bottle Cap Flick Challenge – precision and patience were key as children aimed to flick caps onto marked squares or along a path.
• Fishing with a Bingo Twist – a creative take on fishing that combined strategy and luck.
Upper Primary Highlights
The older students enjoyed a wider variety of activities that blended classic fun with new challenges:
• Kuti Kuti
• Tallest Tower Building
• Tic Tac Toe Relay – a fast-paced team game combining strategy and speed.
• Giant Jenga
• Animal Chess
• Rubik’s Race
• Standing Tall Stick
• Bottle Flip
Students ended the day with ice cream treats, celebrating their efforts and the bonds forged through play.
The Children’s Day celebration was more than just fun—it was a chance for students to build friendships, strengthen cooperation, and practise servant leadership in a playful environment. Laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition marked a memorable day for all at ACS(P).

ACtS of Love – A Community Event hosted by ACS(P) students

ACtS of Love – A Community Event hosted by ACS(P) students
On 30 August 2025, our Primary 4 and 5 students and their families and our partners, MOCA (Moulmein-Cairnhill), and Chong Hua Tong came together for a meaningful time of service to the residents in our community.
The event carried a National Day theme, beginning with an energising Singapore Workout led by one of our parents. Residents and Chong Hua Tong members then enjoyed a series of nostalgic game stalls, where they pieced together jigsaw puzzles of old landmarks and local dishes—sparking memories of Singapore’s past.
Next came a collaborative art activity, with residents painting canvases inspired by national landmarks. It was heartwarming to see the boys partnering the residents with patience and encouragement, with many residents taking pride in their finished masterpieces.
The day concluded with a hearty lunch of local favourites, followed by a lively sing-along session, led by one of our boys, Edward in singing Home in Mandarin, a popular National Day song and the residents stepped up to sing their favourite tunes, together with our PSG Ex-Co members!
One of our boys, Ernest, reflected on the experience:
“Participating in Acts of Love made me realise how much the elderly value companionship. Simple activities bring them joy, help them feel less lonely, and strengthen our bond. I’ll make sure to spend more time with my grandparents and other elderly people, as it truly makes a difference in their lives.”
Indeed, it was a day of simple games and activities but overflowing with love and companionship, with cherished memories for both the residents and the students and their families. ❤️

Celebrating Racial Harmony
21 & 22 July – Recess-time Activities for All!
This year, ACS (Primary) celebrated Racial Harmony Day over two exciting days—21 and 22 July—during recess. Our theme was “Fun through Culture,” and students got the chance to explore the unique traditions of Singapore’s four major races: Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Eurasian.
With the help of our wonderful parent volunteers, the music studio was transformed into a vibrant cultural showcase. Each racial group featured engaging hands-on activities that gave students a fun and meaningful way to appreciate our nation’s diversity.
Chinese Booth
Students tried their hand at Chinese animal chess, learning how each piece moves in this traditional game. They also practiced calligraphy, writing their names in beautiful Chinese characters on bookmarks they could take home.
Indian Booth
The Carrom tables were a big hit, with students learning the basics of this popular Indian board game. Another favourite was the henna station, where students traced intricate henna designs onto transparent sheets to place on their hands.
Malay Booth
Our boys and girls gave sepak takraw and chapteh a try, discovering how much skill and coordination these traditional games require. They also enjoyed making their own Malay-inspired paper kites—a colourful and creative way to learn about Malay heritage.
Eurasian Booth
At the Eurasian station, students had fun with a classic snap card game, and explored the beautiful patterns of Peranakan tiles by designing their own bookmarks using vibrant templates.
Thanks to the support of parent volunteers, every booth was well-organized, educational, and enjoyable. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, curiosity, and friendship.
Racial Harmony Day at ACS (Primary) reminded us that while we may come from different backgrounds, we can learn from one another and celebrate as one united community. It was truly a time of learning, sharing, and fun for all!

ACtS of Love – a VIA project from the heart
ACtS of Love has been a cherished tradition which started a couple of years ago. Through this programme, ACS(P) aims to nurture our boys into active contributors – individuals who demonstrate empathy and contribute to the community and servant leaders who are anchored in Christian values and dedicated to serving others in our home, school and community. This project echoes our 2025 theme verse Mark 10:45“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”
On Saturday, 26 April 2025, School leaders, Teachers, 30 P5 & P6 boys and their families, spent a meaningful morning with the residents of Pek Kio. The event featured activities such as interactive game stalls, a hearty buffet meal and a mosaic coaster craft session. We were also privileged to partner with MOCA (Moulmein-Cairnhill) and Chong Hua Tong Active Aging Centre, both of whom play active roles in the community.
Residents participated in games such as stacking cups, marble run with chopsticks, a tactile memory game, an egg pong game and Name the Place! – a quiz on current and historical landmarks in Pek Kio. It was heartwarming to see residents correctly identify these places and share fond memories associated with them.
The coaster making session brought another level of connection, as our boys guided residents through the activity, offering help and companionship. Afterward, parents served the meals while boys brought drinks to the residents they had bonded with. Each boy also wrote a heartfelt card to gift to their paired residents. Some parents observed that it wasn’t the food or activities that left the deepest impression, but the boy’s presence and genuine interactions. The simple gift of companionship proved more meaningful to the residents.
While we had set out to give through this event, many of our boys and their families came away feeling that they had received far more. Here are some reflections from the event:
“I enjoyed interacting with the resident and witnessing the joy on their faces when the boys were doing the art and craft with them and also helping the residents get food.”
“My son learned to serve the residents with a willing heart.”
“It’s a chance for my son to be able to interact with the elderly and communicate with them, trying to speak in dialect. It’s also a chance to show him not to take anything he has for granted, and to give back to society when he can, especially when he has grown up and can contribute more. There are many people who need our help and this event is meaningful to let my son experience it himself.”
ACtS of Love continues to be a powerful way to live out our values and help our boys grow into young gentleman of compassion who can impact the community. Through this curated event and acts of service, they learn that love, given freely, always multiplies in return.

Education and Career Guidance (ECG)
As part of Education and Career Guidance (ECG) emphasis this year, various experiences were planned for the Primary 1 to 6 levels over 2 days.
On the 23rd of May 2025, the Upper Primary students engaged in career exploration through interactive booths staffed by industry professionals. They participated in hands-on activities, viewed career demonstrations, and engaged in meaningful discussions about various professions, with particular emphasis on unconventional career paths.
On the 26th of May 2025, our Lower Primary students experienced careers through engaging classroom sessions where our Parent Volunteers brought their professions to life through storytelling, demonstrations, and hands-on exploration.
Meanwhile on the same day, our Middle Primary students focused on practical skill development in healthcare and hospitality sectors. Through experiential learning stations, they gained hands-on experience with industry-specific skills while understanding core workplace competencies. Activities included customer service scenarios, basic medical aid practice, and hospitality skills training.
This ECG collaboration between our ACS(P) PSG and ECG team had successfully fostered self-awareness about personal interests and strengths, with an appreciation for lifelong learning and skill development and encouraged growth mindset through real-world professional exposure. The programme also successfully aligned with the school’s Desired Outcomes of developing Passionate Learners through career exploration, Active Contributors through understanding how different careers serve society, Creative Collaborators through interactive learning experiences and Servant Leaders through understanding service-oriented professions.
