Parenting for Wellness
MOE has launched the Parenting for Wellness initiative with rich resources to equip parents with knowledge and skills to build strong parent-child relationships, enhance children’s mental well-being and resilience, and parent effectively in the digital age.
ACS (Primary), together with PSG will be sharing bite-sized resources and parenting workshops to support you on your journey.
Understanding yourself as Parent
Building strong relationships with your child begins with self-reflection and understanding your role as a parent. What values matter most to you and how do they shape your parenting approach? How does being present and offering positive attention impact your child?
The Art of Kombucha!
11 families gathered on Saturday, 15 March 2025, to explore The Art of Kombucha!
Joanne from Gardens with Purpose introduced the benefits of probiotics and demonstrated how kombucha —an easy-to-make probiotic drink—can be brewed at home using just starter tea, tea bags, water and brown sugar. She also shared how different fruits and herbs can be used to create unique flavours.
The boys had a fun time selecting ingredients and tasting a variety of kombucha flavors, while parents were interested to learn more about its health benefits and other uses. It was an enriching experience for both parents and children as they brewed their kombucha together.
The session included a tour of our flourishing Garden, lovingly tended to by our student Green Ambassadors and dedicated parent volunteers!
ACS (P) Founder’s Day Celebration: A Day of Fun, Learning, and Gratitude
ACS (Primary) School recently celebrated its Founder’s Day, marking a remarkable 139 years of excellence in education. This special occasion was filled with fun and engaging activities, bringing together students, teachers, and parent volunteers in a spirited atmosphere. The day was designed not only to commemorate the school’s rich 139-year history but also to foster a deeper sense of appreciation for the ACS community. Through a blend of games, creative activities, and delicious treats, the Founder’s Day celebration left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
Recess Activities: Games Galore!
One of the main highlights of the day was the variety of recess activities that kept the children engaged and excited. Four fun-filled games were organized, each adding a unique twist to the celebration:
Shoot the Correct Answers ACS Nerf Game – A thrilling game where students had to shoot Nerf darts at the correct answers displayed on the wall. It was an exciting way to combine learning with action, encouraging both focus and fun.
Memory Tray – In this game, the children were tasked with memorizing a tray of items before they were covered up. It tested their memory skills while also promoting teamwork as they worked together to recall all the items.
Pass the Message – A classic game with a twist, where students had to pass along a message to the person in front by drawing on his back with a finger. The messages passed along were familiar ACS words, like the house names and ihopeful values.
Jenga – A game of steady hands and concentration, where students took turns removing blocks from the Jenga tower without causing it to collapse. It brought out a healthy sense of competition and excitement.
A major highlight for the children was definitely receiving tokens for winning the games. These small prizes were a token of recognition for their participation and success in the games, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day. Every child who won a game walked away with a sense of accomplishment and pride.
In addition to the games, the children were also given the opportunity to make their very own ACS badges. This creative activity allowed them to express their pride in being part of the ACS family, fostering a deeper sense of belonging within the school community.
Sweet Treats and Gratitude
No celebration is complete without a treat, and the kids were certainly not disappointed! Ice cream was served to all, and many children took the opportunity to indulge in a second helping, savoring the sweet, cool relief! The joy of enjoying ice cream together made the day even more memorable.
A heartfelt thank you is also in order for the parent volunteers who played an instrumental role in making the day such a success. Their enthusiasm and dedication to serving the students were evident. Their contributions were key in making the day run smoothly and creating lasting memories for all.
A Deeper Appreciation for ACS
As the day came to a close, the children were left with a deeper sense of appreciation for their school and its incredible 139-year legacy. Founder’s Day is more than just a celebration of the past; it is a reminder of the values that ACS stands for. May this day serve as a stepping stone for the children to further develop a sense of gratitude towards the school, its heritage, the people who have made it all possible and most importantly to God.
In the years to come, the children will look back on this Founder’s Day with fond memories, knowing that they were part of something special—a tradition that celebrates not only the history of ACS but also the bright future ahead.
Highlights from Our Safer Internet Month
February is the Safer Internet Month and ACS(P) has been emphasizing on the importance of online safety and responsible internet use. From 11-13 February 2025, over 300 boys visited the Internet Safety booth, helmed by PSG volunteers to explore internet safety and sign a Safer Internet Pledge card!

Winners of the Internet Safety Badge!
Students who took part in Safer Internet activities signed a pledge card and designed a badge. We are proud to celebrate the boys and their winning designs! All boys who took part and signed the pledge card will also receive these badges.
The Art of Kombucha

Fun with Dads
Over 40 father-son pairs attended the Fun with Dad event on 8th February 2025, organised by PSG Family Focus in collaboration with Dads For Life, for P4-P6 boys. The event featured activities designed to strengthen bonds, including a blindfolded obstacle course where fathers and sons built trust, a traffic jam communication game, and meaningful father-son conversations that deepened their understanding of one another.
Breakfast with Dads
Over 120 father-son pairs came for the Breakfast with Dad event on 18 Jan 2025, organised by Dads For Life. The event began with a fun ice-breaker, followed by the boys making sandwiches to share with their fathers.
A heartwarming moment occurred when the fathers spent one-on-one time with their sons, offering words of affirmation – something they may not have had the opportunity to do often amid their busy schedules.
The event concluded with the blindfolded boys searching for their fathers in the crowd, with the fathers calling out words of love and the hugs that ensued was priceless when the boys and fathers were reunited.
